FRIDAY THE 13th review

Something has to be addressed, this is not a remake of "Friday the 13th", this is a remake of "Friday the 13th parts 2 & 3 mixed". Now you maybe are asking yourself, whats the difference? Well for one JASON'S MOM IS THE KILLER IN FRIDAY THE 13TH, JASON DOSENT EVEN SHOW UP UNTIL PART 2 AND EVEN THEN HE DOSENT HAVE THE HOCKEY MASK UNTIL PART 3, SO WHAT THE FUCK, DID THEY JUST MELT STORYLINES? Why would it be so damn hard to keep Jasons mom the killer and make an actual remake of Friday the 13th. Are people so jaded that they would just go balistic if they saw a damn Friday the 13th without a Hockey Mask. Apparently so, and since this movie is rakeing in the money there is no doubt going to be a sequel, which is probably going to be called "FRIDAY THE 13th PART 2"... well isnt it confusing enough, now if someone comes up to you and says "Hey, I saw Friday the 13th yesterday" you gotta ask "Which one, the original or the 2nd one, well not the 2nd one like part two, second one like the 2009 remake." Its a fuckin hassle. But now to the actual review, there are no likeable characters in this movie, nobody, every one is just an asshole who begs for apocolypse. That is except for Jason, he's the one you root for to kill all the assholes. Did I mention theres only one black guy? Anyway about the kills, well, their brutal which is to a good job by the sound effects, but their not very interesting, and almost every kill is done by a machete which gets old, your not going to see Jason throw a lightning rod through someones leg and than lightning strikes that guy... that'd be sweet if that happned, maybe they can put it in the sequel. Some of the dialogue is horrendous but some of its funny. But the difference is that Jason actually plays games and trys to scare his victems before he goes in for the kill, its really interesting and makes Jason just a little more of a complex character. This should only be seen by fans of the Jason franchize, any other people than that arnt probably going to like it.

FINAL VERDICT: Skip it

Vicky Christina Barcelona Review

This is a romance unlike any other I've seen before, and it's astonishing that Woody Allen has done romance so many times and still comes up with new ideas. The closest similarity would be to say that its about a love triangle, but thats not quite correct, its more like a love octagon. Sereously... everybody likes at least two people except for the husband of Vicky. It's a very well made movie about two friends who go to Barcelona for Summer Vaction, both having very opposite ideas of what love and romance is. But they BOTH become infatuated by a man named Juan Antonio played by Javier Bardem who was the serial killer in "No Country for Old Men". He shows them around Barcelona as they both realize what they want in love after years of mysticism. The soundtrack is very lackluster and becomes extremely repetitive, it's the same song played over and over again and weared me down untill by the end of the movie it was really making me mad. It definately leaves off with a bunch of loose ends that really should have been tied up, but the ending works for what its worth. It's pretty entertaining and looks very good even though theres hardly ever a difference in setting. Definately not Woody Allens best film but certainly not bad. 4/5

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Review

As I was walking toward the theater I was wondering if it was going to be crowded or not. I didn't think it was, after all it was 9:13 on a Saturday night. Why would there be anyone there? And as soon as I walked in through the door I was astonished at the daunting of number of human cockroaches that where there. Than I thought again, wait a sec, its 9:13 on a Saturday night, no shit there's going to be alot of people here. Every two-bit punk in an abercrombie sweater was there, who was no doubt going to try as hard as he could to get some pussy after the show. And they where all with some woman that looked as if she had been made in a factory who no doubt was going to say yes to his roundabout offer of cock. And they where all there because it was 9:13 on a Saturday night or date night for all the blood sucking 9th and 10th graders... maybe even some 8th graders, those are the worst, the kind that take you to see a goddamn movie at 9:13 on a Saturday night, date rapists. But this isn't about how disgusting most humans are, this is about David Finchers best movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button". And this is coming from someone who has seen "Fight Club" more times than what the numbers on his social security equal. It will be a brutal decision between "Slumdog Millionaire" and this. It's about a man who is living his life backwards, he's born an 80 year old man the size of an infant. And precedes to get younger as his life goes on. This is a romance, about to people who are going in different directions and how to cope with that. Benjamin truly lived one hell of a life, from being abandoned than reunited by his father, to being hornswaggled into joining the navy. It's practically a perfect movie, there were some small troubles I had but it definitely is one of the most moving movies of the year. Everything is gorgeous to look at, cinematography couldnt be any better. Everything is so smooth, perfect transitions, and the use of music is quite good, your not going to be hearing Daft Punk in it, eveything fits the time period it takes place in. You'll leave the theater thinking, I can guarantee that. And Fincher definitely pulled out all the stops in terms of special effects this time around. It truly is jaw dropping. This is definitely a movie that needs to be seen, by any movie lover. I wish I could say anyone but there's some people (not so different from the people I first saw when I entered the theater) who don't care about the actual story of the movie, they just want to hurry up and get to the fucking.

Finished GONZO

In case you didn't know, recently I had 4 months to do a (at least) 1,500) word biography on Hunter S. Thompson. Now if I would have used all of that time it would have been easy, but I'm a procrastinator so naturally I did it all today. And I'm pretty proud of myself, I think it's pretty good. I've always been a fan of Thompson since I learned about him a long time ago and it was really cool to have to re-tell his life. And I think it definitely helped me out as a writer. Definitely is gonna help me get this first draft of my script done by may 20th. Now lets hope I don't get an F

Night At the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian TRAILER review

Seriously who's idea was this. Didn't they say everything they had to say in the first Night At The Museum. Apparently not, and everyone's returned from the 1st movie, Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, the whole lot, even the villain. But a couple new faces appear since it's a bigger museum we've got Jonah Hill (The fat guy with the curly hair from "Superbad") who plays a security guard and I think Ben Stillers partner in this adventure. Also we have Al Capone, (who does not look anything like what Al Capone really looked like) Amelia Eirheart, The Thinker (who for some reason has a brooklyn accent and this takes place in Washington D.C)... wait a sec... The Thinker isnt even in the smithsonian, he's displayed outside of a museum IN PHLIDELPHIA, you can see him in the training montage from Rocky 1... whatever we got Ivan the Terrible, Abraham Lincoln... HE'S NOT IN THE SMITHSONIAN EITHER, he has his own damn monument!!! Whats wrong with these people. And lastly Sackagawea and General Custer.... Thats an odd combination, an Indian and General Custer. Okay first of all General Custer was KILLED by Indians and not only that but there was an atari video game called "Custers Revenge" where you screw a naked indian against a cactus. Are they going to talk about either of these things in the movie? I guess it dosent really matter. But why make this movie in the 1st place, why not just have made this one the 1st one and not even make a sequel. It seems to be more epic than the 1st. Oh wait, yea, I know why. Money. Thats all they care about is how much money the movie makes and theres no doubt that two movies are gonna make more than one movie, unless their pretty horrible movies. But to be fair with all its problems it still looks funny and entertaining and thats what really matters. So I will be seeing this movie when it comes out. Ben Stiller has prooved that he can be a good writer/director with Tropic Thunder and I think his acting career is going downhill, so maybe its time for him do jump ship and become just a director.

Custers Revenge:

THERE WILL BE BLOOD review

I think I can do a pretty good review of this, I've seen it about 5 times now and I bought it around a week...week and a half ago. And It's pretty amazing. Daniel-Day Lewis gives one of the best performances I've ever seen playing the nihilistic Daniel Plainview. And just in case you don't know what nihilism means, it means that your an extreme skeptic, about everything, you don't really trust anybody. Which makes for a damn fine character. Based on the book "OIL!" by Upton Sinclair this movie truly is a story about corruption and greed. Daniel Plainview is an oil man during the early 20th century, it more or less revolves around him trying to drill for oil in a town that is full of god-loving catholics (the perfect place for a NIHILIST). It's about what happens to somebody when they have extreme success and how others will betray for some of it. The score is bone chilling, fitting the movie perfectly. And the shots are ASTOUNDING, in terms of scope, everything. It's a very good looking movie. I'd go as far to say that it's the Marylin Monroe of movies. Personally I think thats it's better than NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, which was the other major best picture nominee and winner. Thats a good movie too but I just like this more. I came into this knowing nothing about the oil buisness and left knowing alot, it's very obvious that alot of reasearch went into this. Paul Tohmas Anderson has indeed made a triumphant return to film and I really can't wait to see what he comes out with next.
